FAQ’s for Gutter Cleaning
Most of Lakeview ProWash customers have their gutters cleaned at least once pr year, in some cases as much as 4 times per year. A simple visual inspection can tell you if you’re ready. If you have a lot of debris on your roof, can see gutter debris from the ground, can see gutters overflowing when it’s raining, then it is most likely time to get them cleared out. You can also tell if your gutters are overflowing if you have a lot of stains and algae on the gutter facings, or fascia board.
The need for gutter cleaning can vary greatly depending on the environment surrounding your house or property. Generally trees are you worst enemy. However, gutters can get clogged with little to no trees around the property. This is generally from the natural deterioration of the roof, algae growing from inside the gutter, or construction debris left behind in gutters.
First Lakeview Pro Wash will use backpack blowers to remove the loose debris that may be on the roof. All gutters are cleared out by hand the majority of time. Lakeview ProWash uses ladders, cleaning tools, and buckets to remove the gutter debris without getting gutter muck all over the place. Then each downspout is checked to make sure the water is flowing properly. Generally the gutter debris is put in a yard waste bin, compost pile, or is dumped in the woods if approved by homeowner. Debris can be hauled away when there is no other option. In the summer time when everything is bone dry we like to blow out the gutters when possible. Lakeview ProWash takes great care to not blow wet, nasty gutter debris onto your house, or under the eaves. Lakeview ProWash always cleans up after the job is done.
Yes. Minor gutter repairs include reattaching/fixing loose gutters, adding flashing where needed to redirect water flow, adding or fixing downspouts. Lakeview ProWash does not install or replace gutters.
In 12 years of cleaning gutters Lakeview ProWash has not found any type of screen or gutter that is truly maintenance free. Almost all screens and attachments that you can put on a gutter will not work as well as you may think. Generally you pay a lot for the materials, and pay to have them installed. When they stop working (generally 1-3 years later) you then need to pay extra for gutter cleaning because the screening material will need to be removed, the gutters cleaned, and then the screening material needs to be reinstalled.
Lakeview ProWash crews have only seen one covered gutter system that works almost as well as advertised. The problem with covered gutter systems is that the water constantly flows over the outside of the gutter causing debris and algae to accumulate on the outer surfaces. Also we have had to clean debris out of many of these gutter systems, usually after several years of use though. We can clean these gutters by pressure washing the exterior of the gutters and also blasting the debris towards the downspouts with a high flow of water.
Lakeview ProWash can wash the gutter faces by hand, using a bleach solution, or by using a light pressure washing. This does not apply to wood gutters.

Clear Away the Nuisance
Don’t let the dirt in your gutters continue to be a nuisance. Clean gutters will bring relief of not having to make costly repairs. Relief will also be welcomed with the many other benefits that come with having your gutters cleaned by our Lakeview Prowash professionals.
Eliminate Pest Infestations – A professional gutter cleaning eliminates the chance of mice, birds, mosquitos, rats, and insects infesting your gutter. Along with getting rid of those annoying pests, you will also be getting rid of tree seed growth.
Prevent Damage to Landscaping – The key component of your property is the landscaping. If it is damaged because of your overflowing clogged gutters, you will be faced with having to pay a costly amount for repairs.
Extended Roof Life – Keeping your gutters cleaned is an important part of maintaining your home. Clogged gutters trap moisture, ice, and debris, making your gutters saggy and heavy. The heavy weight on your gutters would mean that the water isn’t flowing effectively and that your roof is at risk of being damaged.

Why Choose Lakeview Pro Wash
The Best Time to Clean My Gutters
Having a good functioning gutter may not be easily noticed but if neglected or ignored, the damage to your home and gutter system can be irreparable. Unfortunately, when this happens, it is usually because homeowners do now know when their gutters should be cleaned. The best time to have your gutters cleaned would be during spring and fall but if your gutter is overflowing with dirt and debris between these times, we recommend cleaning them when necessary.
