Dog off-leash area
A green space located at Westcrest Park allows you to exercise your dog without the fear of a large crowd. There are picnic tables, a dog park, a playground, and a viewing platform. Westcrest Park is also a great place for the whole family to enjoy some fresh air. Dog owners will appreciate the dog off-leash area, which is located on the west side of the park.
The off-leash area is home to two giant play pits: one made of shredded bark, the other of sand. A separate area is set aside for small or shy dogs. The entire area is surrounded by a wide gravel path, which also serves as the Parks Department vehicle access road. The path winds through a hilly forest with lots of shrubs and trees. These wind sculptures are modeled after the city’s aviation history and local birds in the West Duwamish Greenbelt. Playground
Children will love playing at the Playground at Westcrest Park! The park has a dog park, picnic tables, and a viewing platform. You can enjoy the park with your family and friends. The playground is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. There is no fee for this playground, but donations are accepted. All proceeds go towards improving the park. It is open daily from 8am to dusk, but no reservations are required.
The expansion of the Westcrest Park playground will add two new water fountains and two ADA restrooms. The playground is located at 8th Ave. S.W. between Trenton and Cloverdale. Google Maps has not yet caught up with the new location, but you can still reach it with a short walk from Westcrest Park. Dog owners should remember to keep their dogs leashed when walking between the two areas. To access the off-leash area, walk southwest from the picnic area.
